Watusi Hunt in Cali
« on: November 19, 2013, 04:24:28 PM »
Well my little brother wanted to shoot something before he headed off to Germany. ( He's military)  He made the calls and lined up a trip to Southern California and we headed out on this hunt.  We saw a few animals on the first day but nothing he wanted then the next day saw this big watusi.

After a couple mins of glassing him over the stalk was on.  He broke in his new Hoyt and was pretty excited.  Fun times and I am gonna miss my hunting partner atleast for a few more years.

Is it hard to hunt cow?  Is that a high fence hunt?  Just curious

Curious does not mean the same thing to me as it does you.  Judgmental is more like it.

I did one in a euro for my buddy last year.  He raised it for beef.   My buddy also has a watusi/longhorn cross that its horns are getting close to 7 feet wide.

Watusi can be just as wild with hunting pressure as any other animal . they are smart can be vary spooky . if they see a truck or a person they are gone . I use to do custom farm slaughtering and some times we had to hunt them down for days when they get out . they can jump fence just like elk .

Let's not get judgemental, or someone may question the deer in your avatar, cause it looks like it was shot over feed, in a farmers field. We don't want to go there...

I remember this hunt myself and MLBowhunting drove down to California and this Watusi would not stay still so I had to shoot him while he was walking a couple times with my bow. It was difficult especially when our guide was pressuring me to shoot. I ended up shoulder mounting it and it looks real nice.
