6.5x6.8 SPC
« on: November 21, 2013, 08:28:24 AM »
This cartridges new arrival (6.5x6.8 SPC) has caught my eye. Personally I have never cared for the parent cartridge(6.8 SPC) for my personal shooting situations, I leaned towards the 6.5 Grendel and the cartridge has performed well for me. There is a possibility that the 6.5x6.8 may be able to slightly out perform the Grendel due to the case design being able to run at higher pressures. The link bellow gives some info on the cartridge with some photo's of some promising groups.

I have been watching that as well.

When the dust settles i'll order a reamer and dies and do a barrel on a Benchmark or Krieger blank.

My thoughts exactly! I didn't want to go with the BlackHole barrel so I contacted Pac-Nor. I'll have them do the blank and they suggested a guy to profile it and instal the extension.

Do you have any numbers for profiling? Would you be interested in sharing the cost of a reamer and have the same guy do both barrels?

Sure, I'm up for it. I already have a 17" light weight Grendel and a 18" Satern on the way to replace it. I was thinking mid weight barrel 22" to 24"? Mid length gas system with a Syrac adjustable gas block. Let me know what you have in mind I'm flexible. Oh, and I prefer the 8 twist to the 9.

Here's the reamer print.

I want an 8twist 20" mid length gas system with med contour (.750 gasblock). I would want it threaded 5/8-24.
