Camo for outboard motor
« on: November 21, 2013, 09:39:51 AM »
The old 1981 70 hp Evinrude on the duck boat finally gave up the ghost.  It has been replaced with a new Mercury 50hp Bigfoot.  Need to protect the motor and camo it up-don't want to paint it.  Thoughts, suggestions?

Anyone use a wrap similar to this?:  http://www.mossyoakgraphics.com/boat-motor-wraps/boat-motor-kit.html

Thanks in advance.

I used a mossyoak wrap like that on my shotgun and it worked out amazing! the wrap is very forgiving and a little heat makes it form great. Check out the youtube videos on tip/tricks with mossyoak wrapping kit and you are good to go

It doesn't look as cool for sure, but we just use empty decoy bags. You already have them laying around, why not make them pull double duty...

my dad used an old sea bag to cover his... until he finally painted it.
it was water proof, and had a sinch cord. He would just lip it over the motor.
The bag was all covered in faded grey and brown spots, it was originally black, but worked great as camo.

Jimbo: "That's right, Stanley. Animals are much easier to shoot in the morning."
