Elk but no legal bulls
« on: November 23, 2013, 09:53:32 PM »
Getting ready for archery season this Wednesday. Was hoping some bulls would have shown up by now. But looks like three spikes and a couple cows. I'll take a cow, not a problem. Just wish there were more around. I added one more camera a couple weeks ago. With the new camera you can see my blind in the background.

First time i put my cam out i only strapped it to the tree with the weenie strap it came with... the elk gnawed all over it moved it around.  Next set of pics i have all I got to see were hooves haha.  I strap that sucker in with a ratchet strap now... a little more aminal proof at least.  They were all over that thing.  Everytime i put it out.

Elk do like to rub on, lick, and mess with cameras in general. I often end up with elk hair and mud on my cameras. Haven't had elk destroy any cameras yet though. But I have had a couple damaged by bears.

It looks like you will have your fair share of young bulls to target next September when those guys branch out.

Yes, true, and I'm looking forward to next year for just that reason.

If we were supposed to be vegetarian God would have made broccoli more fun to shoot!
