Awesome trip, love the last photos of just the river.  THANKS for sharing!!!  My longest one day float so far has been 16 miles.  I know what you mean about the wind, I have been rowing and stopped and actually sat in one spot, river rolling along underneath and the wind keeping me there.  With my cataraft though I sit a fair bit higher out of the water then your set up.

Awesome trip. How many total miles on the river was it again? I had the same experience on the Koyukuk river on a moose trip when our guide neglected to pick us up in a timely manner and we decided to start floating. I had uninsulated waders on and with the aluminum bottom on the boat the cold radiated into my feet. Couldn't feel my legs from the knees down. With the nerve damage my feet get cold easily. But wouldn't trade the trip for anything. Going into a trip like that you always think it would be cool to be out there a long time, that is until you are out there along time. I even thought my 10 days on the river in the Brooks this summer was a long time. Didn't think a person would get tired of reeling in fish, hiking or fighting off mosquitos but I did.

Thanks for taking us along on your hunt Steve, great honest recap. Sounds like it became quite a grind.

Another Tag!! Can't wait to see your price list and what ever else you post on this trip.  We are jsut starting to plan a 2016 hunt very similar, a couple flying in and a couple driving up.

Cool storey thanks for posting. Did you see any trail crews in Denali while you were there?

I'll try and get to the price break down later this week, I forgot about it.

Didn't see any trail crews while we were in Denali, they were actually going to close the park for the season right after we were leaving.

:tup:I have made that float 3 times,i never was much of a once in a life time sort of guy, have done a lot of horse packing,30 to 45 day trips.but still learned much on each trip.1 tent and one boat per man.22 days 26 days and 34 days.10 to 15 days is nothing but  road hunting on water, a cat(good one)not round boat.you live in your waders,by them like you would a pair of boots you plan to hunt in for the next 10 years.the bird in and out has gone nuts,my first time was 2000$ in and all meat out per man(1999)(02) was 2500$.in 13 its now 3600$.10 days or 30 days in and out same.but you will see things, that will bring tears to your eyes,(be sides your partner missing a wolf and 70 + bull)
