scouting for ducks and ended with a few roosters
« on: November 24, 2013, 08:30:26 AM »
Just took the day to scout for ducks for thanks giving weekend and got a few big roosters instead. The scouting was a bust and not to many birds over on the east side where I hunt yet but at least the dog got some birds and made it a good day.

Nice, I'd take those roosters over ducks any time.

It's already been said but I sure would prefer a couple of pheasants over a limit of ducks anytime.
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

It always happens the opposite way for me, I go pheasant hunting and end up jump shooting ducks

Big roosters with great tails and some decent spurs. Great way to spend the day .

Nice work!  Maybe I should look for ducks too and then I may find some roosters!

I'd say it was a grand day!  Nothing like pheasant stew on a cold day! My husband's late Mom used to let Larry take care of the ducks but when he came in with pheasants she met him at the door and took them to cook.

It was long day of walking but worth it. The bird on the right had a 25 inch tail and I just dropped it off to get it mounted. Can't wait to get it back when it's done :). Ya my dog is a great looking lab. My dog trainer calls him the Safeway dog. I got him from a random guy in Renton with no hunting back ground at all and he turned out to be a great dog.
