Always best to learn from someone with experience! As for calling advice, call loud when the birds are way off to get their attention but tone it down when they get close to your spread. If your in a good spot ( the X ) then you may not have to call much at all. Call at the birds when they are "banking around" on the outside edges of your spot. Try not to call when they are directy overhead as they can pin point your location. Go to a refuge or somewhere that ducks are concentrated and listen to the sounds they are making, then try to mimick them. Try to sound realistic. No duck will ever win a calling competion, you don't have to sound like those guys. Pay attention to whata working on any given day. Sometimes you have to call them all the way in to the decoys, sometimes they flare at your calling easily. Lastly, enjoy, its a blast to interract with the birds.
