Any alkali deer success?
« on: November 24, 2013, 11:09:46 AM »
This tag used to be my favorite, drew it twice when they had 75 tags. Pre- native slaughter.  Only 6 rifle tags now, so I'm curious how the deer are doing and if anyone on here had success or heard of any success?  Thanks.    This was my biggest deer, from 94,  27.5" wide.

I'd like to know the same thing???

Last time I drew that tag I ate it after setting my heart on a buck I found  while scouting. I spent 9 days looking high and low for him and letting some great bucks walk. I never did see his stats show up on the harvest report. 7 or 8 years ago I would have bet the next state record was going to come out of there.

Anymore with the deer numbers I wonder if I should waste my points putting in for it.

Haven't heard anything. Ever since a few years ago when the 200 inch buck got killed I haven't seen much if anything come out of there.

I know tribal hunting is still big there. I heard all 6 rifle tag holders shot average bucks and was told that no bucks were taken during archery season. Didn't ask about muzzleloader?

Monster came off of YTC during rifle this year.

I had the archery tag in 2010 and didn't see very many bucks, maybe 10 under 140".  However, I did see one 6x6 28 incher that would have gone 180 easy... There aren't a lot of bucks out there but there are still some studs!

I was out there a couple weeks ago. I just briefly looked at the harvest list at range control. There were about 6 or 7 bucks listed with two of them being tribal kills.  Hard to tell how big they were as they just put how many antler points they have on each side. One was like an 8x10 or something close to that and the rest 3x4's and 4x4's if I remember right.

Had the muzzle tag this year past up 15 or more average 3 and 4 points had my opertunity on a very nice buck 30 plus  with good fronts and backs huge body miss judged him thought he was 160 max when I walked it off later was 219 there was two really big bucks in an area but never was open when I could get over there one was a huge non typical that I think got taken in late rifle.
