ya his body size and odd shape of his antlers threw me off, looking now he doesnt even have any tarsal staining.  just seems odd he looks so much heftier than the other year old bucks.

He could be a 2.5 year old with smaller antler genetics but to me he looks like a big bodied 1.5 year old.

Not taking anything away from that buck and if you want to kill him I think that is awesome (killed plenty that size during my life)....He is young buck. He has some fat and a winter coat on him....Also..even though bucks degrade (sometimes down to where they just have a few points) their antlers rarely look like that of a 1.5 year old.

If you saw my picture of Uncle Buck over the past three years on the other thread then you see that pictures of a great buck that degraded a bit over the three years I had him on camera. Both of his incisors were missing from his lower jaw and he had massive tooth wear so I am surprised he grew what he did.

Here are some pictures of over mature bucks that are degrading. Below are pics of the same buck. One last year and one this year (I know they are the same buck because they are in the same area and both are missing that hair on the right side).

The second picture, 2012, is the type of buck I target.......I would never pass a buck like that.  However, his top picture, I assume 2013 this year,  would not flip my switch , even knowing full well he is past pull.  Not that he isnt a solid shooter for most, but when you see bucks all year long, you know what is lurking out there.  I know plenty of guys whod pass on his 2012 pic, but not me...........I love old warriors with tons of mass........
