what kind of stock? solid wood or laminate? the solid wood stocks checker pretty well, but the laminate ones tend to fuzz and dull checkering tools at an accelerated pace.

i have a boyds laminate that i plan on stippling. gonna use a ball cutter on my dremel. saw a guy do it on knife handles and it's super cool!
