62 s, maps

  just got a garmin 62 s,maps.  any good or bad comments, things to look for, etc.  also have the chip for Washington.  thanks,  mike w

If it is like my 62 sc it will go under the batteries in the back.   I love mine and it has been very easy / intuitive to use. Let me know if you have more questions.    :tup:

Also...the chip is decent, especially if you are using it for private / public land boundaries.  If I were you I would make sure to download the free maps from Northwest Topos....these maps are awesome for their topos.

I mentioned this in the other thread as well

Just a nit to pick, not really a "bad"
If you use the backtrack, or like to upload your tracks later into Basecamp, remember to save your track after you get were you want, then turn off tracking, before you turn off the 62s. Then, the next time you go to use it  after you turn the 62s back on, remember to turn tracking back on.
This will keep it from drawing track lines from the point where you turned it off, to the point where you turned it back on.
