Hey guys.thinking to get myself a gun in the future, thinking eather ak-47 or ar15.
what you guys think? Which gun I should get? Thanks in advance

I like both, but I prefer the AK. It's a personal choice, try to shoot both, then make your own decision. Don't rely on an online forum to make that decision.

Have shot most variations of both. I'd choose a AR over ak any day. But as suggested above go to a range that has both and try them out for yourself.

If you get an AK-47 then you get a utilitarian, inaccurate, ugly, simple, and utterly reliably rifle shooting a moderately powered 7.62x39 cartridge. Mounting a scope is only moderately effective, ammo is somewhat easy to come by as are parts but ver little assecories.

With the AR you get a ver versatile platform shooting bullets from .204 up to .500 Beowolf. A thousand options for barrel, upper receiver, action, stock, magazine, etc.

If you want to waste lots of money shooting at (and usually missing ) Big Gulp cups at the range then get the AK.  If you want a versatile, readily available, easily modifyable, with many choices that are relatively cheap to shoot rifle then go for the AR.  If I really thought I would need it for an end of society survival rifle then the AK would probably be tops though.

Really depends on why you want the gun.

What application do you want it for?
Hunting small game or big game, home defense, match shoots?
If reliability after any weather or falling in water/mud will be an issue, then I'd suggest AK.

Definitely look at the AK's, I have both including a varminter style AR that I built. It has astonishing accuracy, is amazingly easy to hit small targets at range with and is just an all around treat to shoot. My AK is a GP 1975 built with mostly new parts. The trigger needed serious help, the recoil spring needed to be replaced after a few hundred rounds and I changed out the stock to one with an adjustable cheek piece. The result is a rifle that points fast and is easy to get a repeatable and fast cheek weld. With stock iron sights and general bulk ammo from wally world it shoots roughly 2" groups at 100 yards. I've beat the snot out of that gun and it keeps right on ticking. If I had to head out to the woods with only one gun to survive it would be a close 2nd to my Savage MK II 22 rifle.

A AK isn't even in the same class as a AR, but AK's have their place.

An AK has the ballistics of a 30-30 good out to about 150 yards. My Brother used his as a brush/timber gun for deer. There are many different grades of AK from the cheep stamped receiver to the expensive milled factory ones in Russia. A good middle of the road AK would be a Romanian one. Its well know for throwing lead down range and ALWAYS working A real waste to use this gun with anything other than iron sites IMO.

AR's are the Ruger 10-22 of the big boy world, and yo can get or make one that fits your desire, just bring the cash.

Apples and oranges...get one of each, they both have thier place. The ak the Glock of the rifle world, the ar more the 1911. Accuracy versus reliability is probably the most basic way to differentiate
