Coyote Madness Fall 08 - Winter 09

Burr, it was cold today, -1 when my boy and I got out of the truck about 10:00 am. Made several calls before one unlucky yote happened to responded to my sorry attempt of a dying rabbit. As luck happened, I hit him in the left eye at 171 yards.  He dropped right where he was standing. Second pic is where he just dropped in his tracks.

Looks like I need to change the date on my camera.

Here's a nice male weighing in the low 30's from today, BullElk,SageBrushStalker and I went out and tried to call in a few. Only this guy came to the call. Heard a lot of howling and saw a total of 11 coyotes. One of them laid down and just watched us calling from about 630 yds. After about a half hour of that we sent a 55gr and a 65gr his way. Close but not quite.  Looks like they may be starting to run in packs now. Don't know if it's too early yet for them to start mating but kinda looks like the start of it.  Shot at 150 yrds with the .243 65gr Vmax. Starting to like that gun
