Score another for Team Can't Hit Shat.
Well it was the maiden voyage for the 220 swift and it was bitter sweet. Had a yote bust me while walking to my first stand and he just sat and looked at me for 10-15 minutes he was a long ways off and my rangefinder wouldn't read it. I figured 500 and gave it a poke. Well wouldn't you know, I hit it. But not very well. It bit at it's guts and did a couple spins and took off. Snow is mostly gone so couldn't track it but where it did cross snow there was blood but not much. I did range it finally at 511. Second was the same thing. Damn thing had me pegged at 404. Took another poke and missed clean. Usually don't shoot past 350 but these two wouldn't come in and just sat looking at me. Plus I hadn't even done a set yet, I was just walking in. Either I stood up and educated them or I try a shot and educate them. Oh'well. Finally make it to the 1st set and call one in but he winded me at 313 and as soon as I got the hairs on him he bolted. Barking wouldn't stop him.

4th set I finally called in this purdy dude. Took about 20 minutes and he came charging. He saw the decoy and just froze up. Sumbitch never did see me. I let him have it at 65 yards. Let me tell you that Swift hit him like a lightening bolt. It sure was fun to get out again. That damn storm really screwed things up down there.
Here's where I plugged it. See the little arrow dead center?

Close up.

Here's my pretty mug.

Exit wound. 36 grain Varmint grenades. Sorry if too graphic. Lots of people ask about the V-Grenade so figured I'd post. Not too bad for a 65 yard shot at 4000+.

Another of the dog cased with yours truly.

Sorry for all the pics. Excited to finally get out again. Oh' and this is what I think of skinning these stinking dogs.

But he had good fur. Think I'll hang him in the basement. Doubt the buyer will like the butcher job I did and he's pretty dark.
