Coweeman hunting buddy
« on: December 06, 2013, 09:46:12 AM »
Like others I am new to hunting this area.  Grew up further west and spend most of my time out in the Sol Duc, Pysht, etc.  This is first year with a Muzzy.  Actually got the opportunity to pull the trigger on a nice bull this year, actually pulled the trigger 6 times but only the cap would ignite.  Spotted a bull about a mile away laying in a clear cut in the rain.  Hiked in to 82 yards away, he never knew we were there.  Fired my muzzy and nothing but the cap, yelled at my buddy to run his up to me from about 20 feet away, fired only cap.  Put 4 more caps on trying to get a shot off before the elk was gone.

Anyways, I am going to go spend some time tomorrow, and even next week checking out the coweeman more to get familiar with it for the future.  Not asking for tips, but I do enjoy good company.  So if someone is looking for a hunting buddy tomorrow (12/7) or perhaps a day or two during the week next week, send me a PM.

I hate that when the cap goes off and the powder doesn't. Last year my problem was the cap didn't go off. Had a cow at 35 yards.  :bash:
