I hear ya on the wondering.  Sometimes that is half the wow factor, not knowing.  I would hate to venture a guess, without a tape I am guessing you would get a difference on guesses of 40" or more.  Some will say it is 220" and some will say 170", and then the bickering starts.

I would say it is REALLY BIG and I would shoot it any day of the week and twice on Sunday if given the opportunity.

It is a great buck, an awesome family treasure and when to always wonder about.  Thanks for sharing.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

Score?  There's not damn thing 3 digits can tell you about that deer that it's not screaming off that plaque just as it is.

That one is pure gold, add the family connection and it's beyond scoring.  Just let it own that cabin and never score it.

tho grandpa was obviously a modest man, i personally would have it scored, so if it made book it would immortalize him, even if only in a small way, to a few antler obsessed people, he would go down in history as a member of a very small group of lucky hunters.  or let it ride as is, either way cant go wrong.
