I would have tossed the raw chicken on the ground, tossed the dog harness on it and stomped it a few times until it was meat goo then took off with the dog

in the hands of a responsible owner they are a handy tool like any other tool.  I liked them for pottying a dog ... however allowing a dog to have free reign and never locking it down to utilize like you would any other leash is simply a sign of owner incompetence with tools.
