pop up blinds and coyotes

I know they can be a pain to set up and move but has anyone had any luck using a pop up blind with yotes? thinking of using mine to block some of the cold wet weather out.  will be using at night as well.

Will be doing the same! With heater inside as well. Some models are easier to set up than others that's for sure.

Mine is an Ameristep and I just toss it out there and it's done. I weighs 12.4 lbs with the backstraps included. Do some research and you'll find a reasonable packable blind out there.

I wouldn't waste my time setting something up and tearing it down every stand. Your there 15-30 minutes and moving down the road.  I think coyotes are smart enough to know something is out of place.  Dress warm and hunker down in the brush.

I tend to agree with what Ballance1 said.  I think coyotes are extremely leery of any change to their haunts.  I think if you put up a blind and left it there for a while (days), they'd get used to it after a while, but anything new will spook them.

I've had them come up within 5-10' of my pop up blind while turkey hunting.  Doesn't seem to bother them at all.  As soon as they get close enough to get a good whiff of you they're gone, but the blind doesn't seem to bother them .   I have a one man pop up blind (can't remember the who made it) but it pop's up in about 2 minutes and goes down just as quickly. (once you get the hang of it, takes a little practice to get in back down quickly).  If I were going out after yotes this time of year I'd sure use it.

No need for a pop up blind. I've sat out in the open and had coyotes come as close as 5 ft. Scares the hell out of you when you turn and see one right behind you with his guard hair up. A pop up blind is too much work. Sit still, dress warm, and shoot straight.

i know its hard to hunt in the cold wearing tight pants, so a heater and blind are a must, lol.   seriously, regardless how cold it is, you should be moving, from stand to stand, from truck to stand, etc etc, you will be warm, sit into a spot that gives you a good 360 vision if possible, matching your camo, call until you get cold, then move again to the next. 30 min. and move 30 min. and move.
