The recent disappearance and death of two female hikers in and around the Boise, ID Craters of the Moon hiking trails are causing outrage among residents who fear a massive scale cover up of what really happened to the two women.  The body of Amy Linkert has been found, but attempts to find out what really happened to Dr. JoElliot-Blakeslee, an employee of the Oregon Dept. of Corrections, are hitting major stonewalling by authorities who should be in the know.  Retired US Fish & Wildlife Biologist Jim Beers (jimbeers7@comcast.net) and other area citizens fear that a marauding wolf pack or other predators like a bear or a cougar may have attacked, killed and eaten the women.

I'm all for the elimination of the wolf but this story is a joke without any shred of hard evidence!

What could be an interesting and significant story is ruined by the ridiculous sidetrack into a story about schoolbooks and Common Core issues. Very little hard evidence is presented and the author could have gone into a lot more detail to explain why they think there is "stonewalling" by government officials. The headline is compelling but reading the article reveals that may, or may not, be the case.
This is a serious accusation and should be reported responsibly. This story is as foolish as some left wing garbage.

Yeah, I have to agree. As much as I'd like to see solid evidence that these deaths were due to wolf attack, they don't seem to have any for this article. Since they found one body, or parts of it, they should be able to extract animal DNA, right?

I posted the title of the article and a link because I'd like to know more.  Boise isn't too far from here and if there is a way for me to reach out and find out more about it this might be a good spot to do so.

Even if wolves did not kill the hikers I think it's important to know if they ate on the remains.

I read this article a while ago and contemplated posting it but after reading it, I realized it was written by a complete idiot.  The woman died from exposure her body was found intact , no attack occurred.  This type of article does nothing to help us.

One female was intact and appeared to have died from exposure - we don't know what caused her to be off the main trail and hunkered down in a boulder field. 

We don't know about the other female.  If they determined the 2nd female in the moon rocks area to have died of exposure what about the female they found first - where they had to use dental records.   Sounds like there wasn't much left of her.



Hopefully more knowledge will come out soon.

Yea, we don't know everything that happened and probably never will...I could make some reasonable speculation about what happened...none of it would include the absurd idea these women were attacked by a rogue pack of wolves.

People do weird stuff when they go hypothermic. There was a couple and their kids who got stuck down in Oregon some years ago. They found the guy's wife and kids ok, but when they found her husband, who had gone off to try and get help in the cold, he was dead and not wearing a shirt.

If I read the article right, it sounds like these ladies had been missing since September 24th and were found in late October? Plenty of time for a body to decompose in the elements and become unrecognizable or for any number of scavengers to take advantage of a ready meal. I doubt anyone will really know what happened.

I didn't say the deceased were yuppies.  It's a place where even an avid outdoorsman would have a hard time surviving.  And the terrain doesn't change that much at the Park borders.
