The Pacific Ghost
« on: December 13, 2013, 09:25:20 AM »
For all you blacktail hunters! I was able to share a BT hunt with a good friend and fellow member of hunt-wa this fall. We had a good time and Garret was able to take an average buck for our area. This is my first film that ive completely filmed and edited by myself so Im getting better. Give me some feed back on what you do and dont like! Make sure to watch it in 1080p, most browsers default it to 360p for one reason or another, making the quality is horrible.

I agree with superdown. The filming, music, and transition between scenes was great but the narration was kind of monotone. You'll get better at narration with practice but you need to change the inflections in your voice a little. I see good things coming. Great work!

That is almost exactly what I was going to say. I would also put a little more distance between the volume of your voice and the music volume, the music over saturated your voice at times. I think the only thing you need to work on is your voice over, the rest was great. I really enjoyed it, good job Jon.

Great vid ,like most pointed out the voice is monotone ...and music volume .....
One more thing - there was this tread not long ago about tagging an animal before taking pictures or after  :chuckle: :dunno: try not to get yourself in trouble .Otherwise I liked it a lot .....

Very well done.

Do you recall the recent thread about TV hunting shows, and how trite and boring they are?  Personally, I would much rather watch this video than the fakey hunting shows on TV.

Thanks for all the kind words and positive criticism!
Sorry about the voice over I know its distracting. My mic is terrible so every little variation in tone and volume the white noise and echo gets worst. I tried covering it up a little bit with the music but after a few hours of messing with it I got it to be as good as I could get it. Also, its pretty weird listening to yourself talk so it takes a bit of getting used to  :chuckle: I would of bought a better one but after being on the road hunting for the last 3 months the bank account is running a little low  :chuckle: Our next film will be much better in that department.

As far as the deer being tagged, it was tagged immediately upon being walked up to, the tag was in his ear (we didnt have any tape on us). Thanks for watching out though silver  I actually have footage of us tagging it but it was shaky and slightly out of focus so I chose to leave it out.

Great start man really looking forward to more vids. Captured the spirit of the NW and the only animal that really turns me on been that way for 33 seasons now. Blacktail are a special animal to hunt with their cagey disposition and the tangles and big timber they call home. Many years I passed on an elk tag but I never fail to get out after Blacktail. Thanks for a dramatic and tasteful video keep up the good work.
