Would you have said something?
« on: November 08, 2008, 10:38:40 AM »
This morning a guy shot a goose in the blind next to me at 7:35 in Goose Mgmt Area 2A which opened today at 8am.  Would you have said something to him or just let it be.

I let it be, against my better judgement.

Saw something  so he knows you're watching him.  A gentle, "Hey - it ain't shooting hours yet!" should suffice.

It takes one guy like that to ruin the first chances of everone around him. I've been around guys like that who shot early and all the flocks got up and everyone else just had to watch them fly off.  :bash: I don't think I would have been quite as willing to let him off the hook. He'll just do it again next time too.

Granted, shooting hours for ducks had been open for an hour, and there had been some shooting, it wasn't that he ruined a chance for anyone, it was strictly that he broke the rules.  I didn't even know goose opened today since I don't have my goose card yet (in the mail), and I text my dad to ask him, he said ya it opens at 8.

I would have given the stink eye  :o  then grumble some pretty foul words about the person just barely loud enough for them to hear.  Basically, I would have taken the passive aggressive route.

I'd have said something....  Ignorance is no excuse and if he's so desperate to get a goose that he needs to break the law he should know his wrong doings......

I hunt in Mgmt Area 2A (Vancouver) and you need a goose card to hunt geese here.

are you talking having a snow goose card, or one for canadas as well?

You need one in those area's for Canadians as well.  It's to keep the dusky population from being "destroyed" which is ridiculous IMO.
