wildgame trail cams? I am new to cams
«

I am just decided to try and use trail cams for scouting and other things so everyone's opinion is welcome, my 2 questions are:
Cabela's has a sale on Wildgame Innovations Blade 5 cams normally $99.00 on sale for $70.00. Are these good cams to start out with?
I also know Cabela's has a Bushnell Trophy cam normally $169.00 on sale with rebate for $80.00 This sale ends the 18th of December I think. would this one be a better cam than the Wildgame?

Bushnell hands down and worth it if you can afford it.

I have several brands but prefer my Wildgame Innovations cameras and my Stealth Cam. They take good pictures and have good battery life. One other pro is they use AA batteries which saves on the pocket book compared to my other cameras which use C or D batteries and don't last half as long in the field.

I have 2 Wildgame cameras; an older 3 MP that uses C batteries (Poor battery life, but good pictures). And a newer 6 MP camera that uses AA batteries. (Good battery life, but poorer infrared pictures), but I'm leaving it out all winter this year. got both of them on sale at Midway. The new camera has more features than the old one, but all I want are still pictures anyway.

One thing I've learned about cams, its better to have 5 $100 cams than 1 or 2 high end ones. The more cams you have the more info you gather. I've had great luck with promos truth 35 & Bushnell x8. Both great on battery's. Both cams are on there 2nd set of battery's this year, but have gotten 28,000 pics this year from these two alone. I've had verry poor luck with stealth cams, and horrible customer service!

My cameras cost me less than $90 each. I refuse to pay more than that for something that's made in China. (What isn't these days?)

Ill take my wildgame cams anyday over my Bushnell that is in the trash. Ill take cheaper cams over high end ones..Id rather have more out than a couple and not to include thieves and bears ruining cams its easier to swallow when a $70 cam versus a $150 cam. Look at Amazon or Natcheez shooting supply for cams..Cabelas is outrageous

The main reason I don't care for the Wildgame cams is they don't offer a "burst" mode, where the camera takes multiple pictures every time it it triggered. At least the ones I am familiar with. It could be that they do now offer cams with that option, I haven't researched them lately. I do have two Wildgame cams and they take only one picture at a time with a minimum 15 second delay. Which is fine over bait, but for trail use it's much better to have a 3 or 5 shot burst, in my opinion.

i like my bushnell x-8s, but the cabelas version of trophy cam is garbage. bought one, cause it was on sale, and the night pics are absolutely terrible, and it had all my pics ( over 5000 ) out of order, but had all the times consecutive, like they were in order, tho they werent. and apparently all 5000+ pics were taken on the same day. go figure.
