It was near Wenatchee, and as far as keeping the gun loaded, this is not my self defense gun and I don't shoot it very often so with two young kids in the house loaded all times isn't going to happen.
Here's another pic to give u an idea of how close he was

Did the beagle ever come back? Hope the cat didn't get him. Had beagles when I lived in NY. Great little dogs.

Wow CRAZY story for sure but not the first time I've heard it.My buddy shot at one that was leaving nose marks on his windows of the upstairs balcony after chasing a neighborhood cat up there. He missed though with a full clip,it jumped off the balcony and ran through his yard.

Iceman my coworker got a pretty good scare one night with having a preloaded, good to go .38.It went off on its own in the middle of the night and shot a hole through the bedroom wall that went through the shower on the other side and right on outside the house.Woke him up from a dead sleep.Only logical explanation that I could come up with is a proud primer with weak/thin  metal and the heat was just right to allow the hammer tension to set it off.I informed him the way to go is resting on an empty cylinder.

Good job.

All the more reason to keep the gun loaded in the future? :dunno:
