snow snow snow snow, we got several inches last night and its still snowing here in wenatchee.  Good and bad for Dan.  Should make a push of deer in the next couple days but it will also make it hard to get around.  Here is to hoping mr. big buck finally shows himself to Dan.  Good luck and be safe

It snowed most of the day, visibility was limited, but I pushed onward and up the mountain. Hiked back in a ways today, on a summer day it would be no problem but in knee deep snow it was a workout.  I finally got to see one of the big boys today, my trigger finger was real twitchy. Got within 75 yards of the tall heavy dark big guy, had the scope caps up and crosshairs on the target only to find it was a 2x4. He and another buck didn't know I was there so I took at least a dozen photos of them. I wanted him to turn his head so I gave him a grunt, he turned but the whole hillside below me errupted. I quit counting at 35 head. Small 4's, lots of 2's and 3's, and dozens of does. Took lots of pics. I'm not sure how they all fit in the small area I couldn't see. :dunno: Total count for the day was over 150 seen, but only the one good one. I made it back to the Explorer to find in buried in snow, had to dig it out.

Hunting Cowboy, I was up the Mud Creek Rd, followed the Palmich Canyon ridge (north side) back and over the pass looking down to Steilko. Tomorrow I'm going to find an easier hunt. I may go survey the Mission area.

Huntnphool, I was safe, I had a shovel to dig the rig out. :chuckle:

300 - sounds like a fun day.  Work was a blast today, in case you've been wondering.   :bash:  Jeez, and the holiday lunch is tomorrow.  Sure hate to see you miss that.    :'( Maybe I'll freeze up a plate for you.  ;)  Hey, these little round guys are fun!

More snow for the next few days.  Might be enough to get 'em down another thousand feet or so.

What do you think, 50Cal?  Should we give him a few more days before we go bail him out?

Enjoy every minute of it, 300.  Wish I was there.

Well I'm not exactly sure who you are Gray Brow but I'm guessing you're DVD. Actually I just talked to 300 & he's sounded a little exasperated. :tung:So I told him I'll be coming over Thurs-Mon & see if we can take care of business. :hunter:.

Have you checked out Oklahoma Gulch area at all?  With this snow moving in that's one area where a buck could move in and not really be noticed... not a whole lot of people monitor that area just because it's out of the way of everything compared to most of the Mission, and Entiat...

Saw a lot of new area today, but not near as many deer as yesterday.

wastickslinger: The next time I get fogged/clouded out of here I'm going to the desert. Not sure what part of it though, I think I've see every sage bush there.

graybrow: I have many pics but no cable to download them, Panasonic has a proprietary cable and I forgot it at home  :bash:.

Thanks for the advice MichaelJ and Slider, I'm off to Oklahoma via Mud tomorrow but I will have two extra sets of eyes helping me look for "the one".
