LMAO...I just got the "are you F*&^&^% kidding me" when I got up to go check.  Late is a good thing in this hunting situation.

Don't sweat the hunting issue on this one especially at this point in the game.  You have put the time in.  Don't think others have not or will not take a great buck they did not walk miles or hunt years for.  Heck if someone called you with a sure bet at a 180 or better I hope you would take it.  If you have an opportunity at a good buck take it.  You have hunted hard and long, and IMO desrve any buck to hang as a memory of this hunt.  Whack it and remember all the good times leading up to it.

300.....That is a personal decision. You have hunted and hunted and hunted and taken us all along. It has been a great ride! I do not think anyone here would think twice if you filled the tag with an "Easy Shooter" on the last day.....

I almost called you today Dan, but decided this buck was a bit too small.  I got on to the same mule deer I saw yesterday and got a bit closer so I could take a look at him.  He's in the following pictures.  Obviously, all the deer this time of year are out eating on the winter wheat.  This deer was in the dirt field eating...and the property line is the grass and fence.  He comes out on the property where you can hunt him during the day to feed and beds on another guy's property.  I'm sure I could get permission on the other landowner if I wanted and the buck was a tad bigger.  He ended up being a 4x3 frame with quite a bit of trash.  The right side only has 3 typical points, but a good amount of trash.  The buck would not net score well.  But I thought he was a cool buck.  Not terribly wide but he was high.  All in all, I saw 400+ deer and maybe 30 bucks...  No sign of the big muley or the big whitetail.  Sorry 300, I tried to find a buck for you.

Shawn

There's no shame in shooting an easy buck when you have already hunted your ass off.  Good luck tomarrow

Tough call on the buck that would not really be "hunting". I don't think any of us would disagree that you have not put in a valliant effort. I don't even think valliant describes it. From the stories so far sounds like you could use an easier day.

Good luck for one last time!!!!!

We will all be waiting around the computer I'm sure.

I don't post much but I have been watching this thread daily and lately checking it every 10 minutes. At least now I know I only have one more day of checking.
As others have said, I do not believe anyone here on this site would fault you on taking a good buck that may be an easy one.
I can't wait for tomorrow.
Good luck.

I don't have any problem with an easy one.  Heck, if you shot the one I posted in the picture above you would simply need to drive up to about 500 yards, turn the radio down, put your beverage in the cupholder, lay the gun across the hood, take a deep breath, and shoot him.  Then we simply would drive up to him and drive back to a heated garage and an electric winch to clean him out...  Doesn't get any better than that.

Just think of all the hard ones 300. I think you owe it to yourself, take em as they come, if they come easy, take em. Good luck tomorrow, can't wait to see the pics. Later

Take the one that makes YOU happy. Tag soup isn't the end of the world either, you have had the best deer hunt Washington has to offer and enjoyed the *censored* out of it. My hat is off to you either way.

Shawn, you have nothing to be sorry for, because of the efforts of you and all the others, I pledge a four day weekend for next years raffle tag holder (as long as they post updates on here) to help in what ever means needed. Dropping the hunter off at the top of the mountain and picking them up on a lower road, packing the animal out, pre-scouting some areas, etc.

i say congrats. you have hunted longer and harder than most of us could ever dream of. i would hope that i could do the same as you have all season long. it is easy for me to think that i would rather eat tag soup than settle for a lesser buck but i am not in your position. what ever happens you should be proud of how you used this tag of a lifetime. congtats again.
