My boy got his first deer
« on: November 08, 2008, 10:22:43 PM »
well we came over to the eastside for bird and deer hunting. spent yesterday looking for a deer for the boy and around noon we found him a nice doe. he made a 40 yard shot and hit her right between the eyes. not the exact place i told him to aim for, but what the heck she droped right in her tracks. was pretty cool to watch. i'll post some pictures when i get back to the west side. the kid is on a roll this year. :hunter:

That sounds exactly like my first shot on a deer. aimed right at the shoulder and the bullet somehow curved up and hit her in the head.  Congrates to you and your son.

The first deer I ever shot was at 9 years old and it was a really nice doe that I shot going up the Chapoka grade in GMU 215. Still remember it, 4 shots later, little over excited. One miss, one in the guts, two in the head for good measure.  :chuckle: I cant wait until my girls start seriously hunting. The oldest 3 loves going with me but gets cold easy.
If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.
