Early mornings on the water
« on: December 19, 2013, 07:16:28 AM »
Share em up.   They don't have to be postcard quality to portray the emotion we all feel when the sun comes up and we are on the water, the birds are flying, and we are watching the watch to hit that magical number.  The dekes are out, the dog is antsy, the 9 year old is waiting, your partner is snoozing.

I only get cool shots like this when it's REALLY slow hunting...   lol...

Stan Marsh: "My Uncle Jimbo says we gotta get up there early. Right Uncle Jimbo?"

Jimbo: "That's right, Stanley. Animals are much easier to shoot in the morning."

KCCO

The world breaks everyone and afterward many are strong in the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these you can be sure it will kill you too but there will be no special hurry.

One of the images most engrained in my mind is sitting on flats of the skagit river delta, below our duck cabin before shooting time, the twinkling lights across the bay, the silhouettes of stumps and cattails, and whistling wings of ducks flying over... What a way grow up!
I am free only because thousands of brave Americans have given their lives for me...
