Phil Robertson - Banned from A & E
« on: December 19, 2013, 09:05:26 AM »
He was banned because he responded to a question that was asked and he was preaching the bible and mentioned his beliefs.  But he does not discriminate and loves all of humanity, but still is getting hosed.  Wait until the next GLBT march, they will all be blowing duck calls and the media will be thinking it's great.

They had to figure some way to get the show off the air. I honestly think it started as a way to make fun of redneck hunters. Then when the show took off, well they milked it for awhile. But their true side came back out when they saw a chance to cut the ties, with out being the bad guys(in their eyes).

If this is the case and it wouldn't surprise me if it was, I hope another network picks them up and offers more or they start there own network. Hopefully A&E will crash and burn thanks to banning them that would be perfect. To many liberals and supporters of that lifestyle for that to happen though.  :bash:

"Tolerance is a characteristic of a man lacking convictions." -G.K. Chesterton. Phil Robertson is NOT a man lacking conviction. He will call a sin a sin and call the sinner to repentance. That is love. Watching with feigned approval as they march into the grave isn't very loving.

They've been clashing with A&E since the very beginning.

A&E was bleeping them to make them sound as if they were cursing - remember that?
I respect their convictions and the fact they won't yield those convictions for promise of money.

I'm a duck dynasty supporter and fan; even though I've never seen a single episode nor own any branded trinkets :chuckle:

He doesn't discriminate?

If you read all of what he said:

"Don't be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers — they won't inherit the kingdom of God. Don't deceive yourself. It's not right."

Seems to fit the exact definition of discrimination.

So, I know by now that everyone knows that I am a Pastor, my degree of choice is in Biblical Theology.  I also know that not everyone believes what I believe and that is ok.

But did you know that Phil Robertson, in expressing his personal belief, was only quoting from Scripture?  So people can hate Phil for his belief, but in reality, he didn't say it, it was the God of the Bible that said,

"Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God." 1 Corinthians 6:9-10  (But remember that if you are going to try and interpret this verse, keep it in context.)

I do not think any less of a person that does not believe the way I do, so why should anyone think less of me for the way I believe?

Will I hate gays because they are gay?  No I will not.  But if you ask me what I think of there lifestyle, I will tell you what Phil told you.

Well, if you want to look at it that way, the Gospel message is about discrimination.  Yet the ultimate equality measure at the same time.  Having your sins covered by Christ is the ONLY way anyone gets to heaven.  Aned everyone is guilty of sin.  So the offer of Salvation is open to everyone.  Yet only some will accept it.

So you can complain about what Phil said, but he was just stating what is in the Bible.  He wasn't attacking anyone, or saying he hated anyone, or saying God only died for certain sins and not others.  So your beef is with the Bible, and not even Phil...

I don't think you understand what that word means...

I could not have said this any better, esp whats in bold. He was quoting the bible and they are mad at HIM. Crazy

Comparing homosexuality to beastiality is beyond comprehension. That is pure BS. I'm glad he's off the air. You speak your mind? Fine, but the people signing your paycheck don't have to like it.

Except as an "equal opportunity employer" they have to put up with it.
