Don't have the IR I have the Attack Flash and that is a strange one to me.  My first question is what size SD card are you using? I use 16Gigs in mine. Is the Card write protected? Little flip switch on left side of Card? Usually not if brand new. Don't take offense but are you putting the card in with correct orientation? Have you checked the card on another source to see if maybe there are files on it?  Have you tried a different SD card and gotten the same results?
If all else fails do a delete using the trail cam and clear all files off the card and see what happens.

Did you format the card in your computer?

Had to reread the question. Here is the correct answer.

The screen will say FULL if you are using a 4GB or larger CF card. The camera will only work with a CF card up to 2GB

this will also depend on what series of camera you use.

So my question is, what series is the Cuddleback?

    Ambush Family
    Attack Family
    Capture Family
    Excite/Expert/NoFlash
    CuddeView
    CuddeView X2

I hope it works out for you, I hate that one can not put a bigger memory card in the camera. Some series does have firmware updates though to solve the issue. Good luck.
