I think he is or was a site sponsor. I can't remember.

Are you looking for a specific area to hunt or just general? I think Dale is still in Montana, you might check on hunts with him too. :dunno:

I checked with Dale and was told that they only do deer in montana.  we'd really like an elk hunt.  Dale does those in Idaho - we're still deciding between Idaho and Montana.  i remembered Two Bear from being a sponsor awhile back so i thought i'd check about him.  so to answer your question we're looking in general.  any area/any guide so if you have any recommendations, i'd be open to hearing them.

I actually just talked to Dale last week and I am awaiting his response on sponsorship.  We should have an ad up shortly.  We are doing full seasons for 2014, 4 archery, 2 rifle camp hunts, plus late season lodge.  Pm me or give me a buzz.

I hunted with Alan at Two Bear a couple of seasons ago.  I wanted to get my old man up in some quality elk country again since he doesnt get around like he used to.  I thought it would be a fun thing for us to do together.

I have never done a guided hunt before so I dont have anything to compare it to, but felt that he runs a good program.  I really enjoyed myself.

I spoke with him a number of occasions before booking and he was always more than happy to talk hunting.  He was very straight forward in what to expect and what he offered.  I had concerns about my old man and what he could do in the woods, and wanted to make sure it was the right fit for us and that my old man wasnt going to be stuck in camp or not be able to hunt once we got there.  What he explained to me was exactly what we encountered once we got to camp and the hunting grounds.  He certainly knows his hunting area and the elk very well and has a good plan for hunting each day.

As far as the hunting itself, one 5pt was shot the first day we got to camp by a semi-guided hunter.  The other father/son group in camp had a shot opportunity on a couple of nice bulls on the second day.  My guide and I bumped a nice bull that hit the timber before I could get a shot off.  That was really the only day I hunted.  My old man wasnt feeling great so we made the decision to leave camp early (on the third day).  I think the altitude and some external things going on in town kept him from getting settled in.

I think he is a stand up guy and is passionate about elk hunting.  Give him a call and chat with him about a possible hunt.  You can also shoot me a PM if you want more information or want to chat in more detail about my experience.

-Allen
