Might be my last year driving up to Cabelas-Tulalip  ... getting to old to fight the traffic in the I-5 corridor from Gig Harbor.  Been doing these seminars for over a decade, so it's probably time for a younger man/woman to pick up the torch.   :dunno:

Cabelas has always been a show up and have fun deal. No charge . Turkeydancer does a great clinic, he will answer questions you did not even know you had. I have known him a long time and been fortunate enough to hunt with him a number of times. If he is talking about hanging up the clinic deal  :yike: I would recommend you go and listen for a couple hours....it can only help you.

Al, you are one of those guys that cannot be thanked enough for what you have done for turkey hunting in our state. Chapter President for 10 years or so, State committee member and officer, dozens of clinics, lots of first time hunters....the list goes on. Thank you for what you do and have done, I KNOW I, nor my kids would not be turkey hunters if not for you and a few other key guys  ;). Thank you Al, and wishing you and the family well this new year!

I've attached the pdf flyer below ... should be able to click on the paperclipped pdf beow for the info.

There is no cost (ie - free other than your time), but Cabela's requests pre-registration by calling 360-474-4880 (Katie Sanford is the event coordinator).  I think that is so they know that they can seat everyone wishing to come (once had 106+ people show up and they had only set out 28 chairs). More info also can be found by visiting www.cabelas.com/tulalip and going to their in store events page for Feb 22nd.

Thanks BH45, BirdGuy, & Tom Tamer for your kind words ---- wishing you and yours a great New Years. May your mocassins make happy tracks in many snows.  It has been my pleasure to do these, and meet outstanding outdoorsmen like you guys.

No problem ... was glad to start doing these clinics ... they weren't available when I started turkey hunting, but the turkeys (with a brain the size of a walnut) did educate me several times :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

Hopefully we can help you guys avoid the same "lessons learned" that I was taught (all the hard way of course) and improve your chances for not only a fun, but also a successful hunt.

I can't borrow a call this year JB? Are they going to do another contest this year? I might bring one in if they're going to have another one.

:dunno: Don't know if Katie is planning another calling contest, but I would assume she will ...

May need to bring my calls if JB isn't going to let us beat him with his own calls.  :chuckle:  :chuckle:

Looking forward to being there, but never the drive thru the I-5 corridor.  :bash:

Will there be anything similar in the Lacey Cabelas? I'm not certain I can make one that far north...

Haven't been contacted by their new event coordinator, even though I have done them there for years.  Last year they cancelled in February due to event coordinator having grandfather dying.  She had Kittitas Guide do a clinic at Spring Outdoors day when I was already booked at Tulalip.   One problem is that she tends to wait until the last minute and .... surprise!   I would assume that they will have a clinic ... but would assume it may be the guide service again.    :twocents:

Drive up to Kingston and take the ferry. That is how I go. See if Cabelas will pick up the ferry tab.
