Thanks for writing Becky. Aaron's passing touched me deeply even though I never met or even had a conversation with him. From his posts alone I could tell that he was a forthright man and a good husband/father. He will be missed by all of us. I am so sorry for your loss. I hope your move back to Washington brings you and the children the peace and comfort you deserve.

May you and yours find comfort soon.
All I will add is that I believe the world is a better place as a result of his presence.

He will be missed for sure. The BIGFOOT thread will not be the same without him posting on it. At least now he knows for certain where bigfoot lives as im sure he is always looking down on the land he loved. God bless his sacrifice for this great country and god bless you and your family as you deal with these hard times. He was an important member of HW and is missed by all.

I seen Aaron's goodbye and meant to respond with a 'Be safe', but I didn't. I'm a quiet person at times, and somehow because I hadn't met Aaron and only read his posts, I felt it wouldn't mean much. I've hesitated to post here. I only hope we can help carry your grief with you. My heart aches for you and your family. May time soften the ache, and build the pride you and your children can carry a life time for the sacrifice Aaron gave. God bless you.

All I can do is echo the sentiments already expressed by so many and continue to include you and your family in our thoughts and prayers. Your response was the most moving and sincere expression I believe I've ever read. May God's love and mercies be poured out on you and your family eternally.

Becky it's so good to hear from you. I have not posted any replies regarding Aaron, but you and your children have been in my thoughts often. This has stirred wounds that I'm reliving. My step son was KIA in Afghanistan 10/10/11. He also was with the 10th Mountain Division from Ft. Drum.
I'm sure the Gold Star group has been in touch, let them help with support and counseling for you, your children, family members and even close friends.
I'm comforted knowing you'll be returning to Washington were you have roots and family.
I hope you feel a sense of warmth and love from all these people that have expressed there feelings in acts and words, you have 100's of people on here that are ready to help in any way they can, no matter how big or small the task you just need to ask. I likewise will be standing by ready to help for one of our fallen.

I corresponded with ColockumElk / Aaron here and on Sagecreekforums.com for several years. We shared the love of chasing ELK and his dream of flying.
Before he went to flight Army helicopter flight training I told him what is was like for me back in 1966 and offered encouragement- and appreciated his progress reports. I hadn't heard from him for a while after he moved to Ft Drum and just saw an announcment in the Washington Bowhunter that came today.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and all of your family.

Hi don't deserve to call you becky since I didnt know you or your husband outside this forumn, but hope you can get passed all this. I don't know how to convey how sorry I am to hear this. I debated him a few times on here and was more times than not on the opposite side of views, but was all in the spirit of debate never disdain. Hope you know that is you've read some of our debates. I feel so bad now I never would wish this on him in any way. I thank him for his service.
OMFG so sorry hope he forgives me some of my rants.
take care hope you come here some time again.

I apologize for the late reply to your original post, but was thinking about my interactions with Aaron in the military, and saw this.
Spartan. Thats how I think of your husband. Great man. A nations lost, but I assure you he would have it no other way than running to aid his brothers in arms against a lawless enemy.
I promise you he will not go forgotten.
He was one of the pilots assigned to cover down on my team for close air support.
Many, many men owe their lives to your husband.
Nothing I can say can help you recover from the pain you've been feeling, but i give my condolences.
Valhalla Mrs. Aaron Blanchard. Valhalla
My respects,
Wild Bill
