someone needs to do a liitle research in the 460 unit, there goats spread out all over in different groups

You would think we could harvest a higher percentage of the population without harm in some areas when you can stand there and count forty to fifty goats in a group.

It would be nice to dream about, but goats don't respond to pressure anywhere close to as well as deer and elk. The currently acceptable harvest rate is only 4% of a stable herd; after the tribal take is figured in, there simply aren't many left for us to draw tags for.

It also doesn't help that the WDFW doesn't fund for accurate counts. Twice (different units) I have counted 25+% more goats than the WDFW claims. Once I was sitting in one spot and counted 46 goats and the WDFW claimed only 54 in the whole unit.  I know for sure there were 20+ on the other side of the unit. How many were missed.

Fact is Washington has the highest goat population in the lower 48 and the least number of tags.

If i remember correctly they say we can harvest 1 per hundred.

I know when my brother had the tag in 2012 we counted close to 100 in one area. And i know there are many more in the area we hunted.

The area my dad and uncle use to hunt doesn't have any permits. I deer hunt up there and still see plenty of goats.
