Whidbey Late, Late archery...
« on: December 23, 2013, 05:52:07 PM »
Trying to decide between a few different gmus for one last day out this upcoming weekend. I have a multi-season tag and hunted Whidbey a few days during modern, jumped a few but nothing was moving during daylight. Does anyone know if the deer are moving in the daylight over there at this time of the year? I figure they may be calmed down from less pressure now.

Thanks!

There still pretty spooked from the modern guys.  What I have seen is horrible in day movements...

Thats what I was affraid of. A friend of mine has a couple of acres boardering the back side of the Trillium Forest. He has a 3pt and some does coming in after dark but going to be tough to catch one in shooting light without any scouting or trail cams.

There is a chance this time of year though, IMO just less of one than early season.

I've seen quite a bit of movement the last 30 minutes of light lately. That's your best bet. It's definitely possible. I got a nice little 4x4 last week about 20 minutes before last light. There was also about 4-5 does moving around at the same time. Two words for you......WET COB.
