Moses lake perch

Has anyone been ice fishing Moses lake? What size are they? Is it worth the drive from Cheney?

I've seen as few as one person on the ice and as many as an estimated 80.   I don't think they'd be fishing if there was no fish.

The ice is not thick enough for me to venture forth.  I am not an ice fisherman and would want ice thickness about that of an 18' Lund.

What looks like the best way to the ice is to park on Broadway side and park in the motel parking lot.   More people seem to head out that way than the Blue Heron park way.  I think the ice is thicker on the Broadway side as there's less current.

I was thinking of blue heron. According to wdfw that's the typical spot.

It's two different ways to the same spot.  The Blue Heron side has a spot or two of open water that needs to be avoided.  It's because of the current on that side.   The Broadway side has no current between the fishing spot and the parking spot.

If you drive over and look at it you'll understand what I mean.

Game laws state it has a daily limit of 25 perch. they had better be some monsters for that.

Buddy came back from the "Wrong" side Monday and said it was loaded with folks.

They have to be that or larger in Waitts. If you get into them you don't have to pull your pants up at 25 and go home either!!!   :twocents:

Waitts were big! Probably 9. But the bite wasn't steady. It seems hard to target perch.
