soap lake ephrada goose trip

 :dunno:      unfortunately I can only afford 1 East Side goose trip this year. the only spots I know of are around soap lake and ephrada. Does anyone know if the birds are flying over there and also I was wondering if all the smaller bodies of water are froze up

most of the water is frozen over this way besides creeks and rivers. Lots of geese in the area but mostly in the fields from what I have been seeing. Let us know how you do.

I drove up to visit a friend in Bridgeport last Saturday and came home Sunday.  Lots of geese on soap lake both times I drove by it.  The were standing and swimming on the edge were the ice met the open water.  Lake was about 1/2 frozen.  Didn't see much of anything in all of the water east of soap lake.  I thought about getting out of the car and hiking around for some chucker but am not too familiar with there area and were it is legal to hunt so I didn't.  When I got to Bridgeport there were a few ducks near chief Joseph damn but nothing to get excited about.  I saw some Red Heads south of the Bridge at Vantage.  Next duck I get mounted will be a nice big Red Head.

those chucker are a blast to chase around over there. a buddy was telling me he has done pretty good on ephrada lake before. anybody hunt that?

Not to nit pick and be that guy but it is Ephrata and not Ephrada.  :tup:

seen them around Billy Clapp lake and flying south...I always see them in the sky in this area

Don't mean to thread jack - this may be info the OP can use.

Is there still the "firing line" above the refuge at Stratford? Hunted there when I was a kid. Haven't heard a reference to it in years.

Yes there is. Read the regs,it covers the bounderies. All the signs are in the area and along the railroad right of way.
