I was down there on Saturday looking for a yote or 2 no luck. I spend alot of time down in that area and usally see quite a few birds, this year not so many, a few huns and some quail but not the normal numbers. I did see a nice decent 4pt mulie up by the windmill, if you know where thats at. Sorry I can be of more help to you.

I also hunt coyote's down there. I've seen tons of birds previously but most of them were on the farm fields on the road leading to the ranch.

The Escure is west of Revere off of the George Knott Rd. Cant miss the turn in. The huns I saw were in the stubble flat just across the creek.. The quail were running down the acess rd along Rock Creek. BTW the land north of the acess rd is all leased to hunt, so if you get a group of guys working that the roosters fly into the Revere land.Ive seen it happen a few time out yotein.

I used to hunt all of that ground before the BLM and state bought it. I still hunt all of the private around there. I was born in Winona and we have a place there. George Knott was one of my best friends and I lived with him and took care of his ranch the four months before he passed away in 2004. Those places used to be great hunting when it was all private and very closed to outsiders. The hunting has gone way down hill. I shot back to back 27" and 29" bucks the two years before the Escur ranch was sold ('99). I have only shot one deer there since on private. Way too much traffic these days. I would personally not waste my time chasing birds down there, but I have other options. I just hunt on our river place since the Government hasn't started buying large tracts of land there, yet. If you want to know the best public spot in that area, send me a PM. I found a little honey hole archery hunting this year where you should be able to limit daily.

I have hunted revere 3 times this year and brought birds home each time. If you have a good dog and you cover some ground you will do well. I tried Escure last thursday and didn't see a bird. I'm sure they are there but we only hunted a portion and my dog doesn't quite get it yet. It's her first year but she is progressing well. Lots of yote sign all over both places.

Thats a good thing to hear, this is my dogs second year and my first dog that i bird trained, and everytime we go to the fishtrap release we limit in about two to three hours, so i want to give it a go for wild birds, and my parents want to hunt wild and leave to pen raise for more beginner, which i don't understand this is only my second year, but i am addicted, i spent the whole summer working for gas money a traing jeoy my shorthair, so i am obsessed with upland.
