Dog Kennel Covers
« on: December 15, 2013, 05:12:57 PM »
I'm in the market for an insulated XL kennel cover for the Lab. I have researched the ones from Cabelas and read a lot of reviews which 1/2 like em & the other 1/2 don't so Im at an impasse. Also wanting advice on a good weather proof pads.
Would like to hear from others who have bought these in the past & can recommend one...

Thanks in advance gentlemen. Jim Sr.

I really like my mud river cover. I picked my XL from Macks for 110, http://www.mackspw.com/Item--i-MUD183S. Doesn't look like there on sale now, but if you look around I'm sure you could find a good price.  A little spendy, but they are awesome. Only down fall is its a little tough to take the kennel in and out of.
When the buffalo are gone we will hunt mice, for we are hunters and we want our freedom-Sitting Bull

I have four of the Cabelas deluxe jackets. They are awesome. I've put a serious grind on them and they have held up great. My dogs stay warm in the winter as well. I had a problem with the zipper on the first one I ever bought in 09 and they replaced it, no questions asked. I will never use anything else.

I am not a fan of the Mud River jacket. I've bought one and the material isn't as durable. My two hunting buddies have experienced the same fate. But we are pretty hard on the covers. If it's going to sit in the back of your truck for a couple months then you should be fine. Ours get a ton of use and the Mud River ones could not keep up.

Good luck

I have this one and like the price.  My dog chewed it as a puppy some but I had some Velcro sown back into it.  So far so good and wasn't as pissed off at my dog for chewing it at $39-$49 bucks versus $100+
