The NWTF road the wave of WDFW's turkey introductions for over 20 years, then in the aftermath financially fed off the interest and hard work of Washington volunteers until the well went dry. When you hire used car salesmen with an attiude and couple that with a national mentality of you need a damn membership for every banquet you support, it's pretty easy to forcast the future.
Like many other conservation groups, they forgot their original intent many years ago, and let the almighty dollar ditate their purpose and direction. In restrospect, the Washington Wild Turkey Program probably would have been better off without them. Don't ask me how I know.
For you members, both past and present, don't take my comments personally, as I too put my time in on the vouleenteer side. Can't say enough good things about everyone's efforts and dedication.
