Why not a Martin?
«
on:
December 30, 2013, 06:50:16 PM »
Looking into purchasing a new bow soon. If a guy was to base a decision on what brand from this site you would be buying either Hoyt, Matthews or Bowtech from all the fans on here. I know Martin Archery had (has) ownership issues of late but aren't they still a quality product? Researching new bows, Martin appears to offer up a lot of value for the price. So, why not a Martin? Educate me please.

Martin all the way for me. In the past, wene I have had a warrenty problem, if they could not match the look of a replacement part, they would send me a new bow!

I've only owned two bows in my life. The first was a Martin Jaguar. That was about 12 years ago. I now have a 2010 Martin Pantera. I don't see any reason to buy anything else. Why not support a Washington State company?

I shoot a Jaguar as well (circa. 2003). I promised that if they saved the company, I would upgrade this year. Been looking at the Bengal.

Nothing wrong with Martin bows. But with any new bow purchase shoot as many in your price range as you can.

I shoot a Moab, I think Martin bows are a good value.

Thanks for the feedback guys. They seem like a lot of bow for the money. Maybe the reason I do not see Martin mentioned as much as the "big three" on here is that their shooters need not brag.....
Just kidding.

I've shot Martin the last two years (onza and nemesis). Before that I shot Mathews and Bowtech and I quickly realized that both of these bows shot just as good as my guardian and drenalin LD. The difference is the money Martin was spending on marketing.
I would definitely feel confident with the alien, nemesis or onza.

There is nothing wrong with Martin, just probably nothing all that great either. As in everything you get what you pay for. I owned the Cougar when it first came out, and it was a decent bow. There is a bow review done each year on another website. I don't know if they did Martin reviews though. If not there is probably a reason.

If you wind up getting a Martin, it'll probably outlast you. Mine is a early to mid 90's Martin Pantera.
