What unit for Wyoming antelope? What city/area? I'm curious about how you go about finding/paying a farmer for the trespass fee. I've never done it. Good luck and get out there a few times to get a feel for field judging the goats. I have saw a ton of goats, I can tell you what's a big one, but I still can't tell a "giant" from a good goat.
Wishing I was fishing...or in Wyoming

Best advice, especially for surplus tags in Wyoming, is to make sure that the tag allows you some good access to huntable land that holds game. In many areas, you could fill 10 bucks tags a day hunting from roads (I was with a group this year that filled 4 buck tags hunting from 9 am to 3 pm. All average bucks). Some tags are very restrictive as to where you are legal (typically irrigated land only type hunts). Antelope hunting in Wyoming is a great time.
Everyone has something to teach, so listen up

drop the 100$ and buy the state specific GPS map chip. Ive hunted wy with and without it..wont ever try it again without the chip...your asking for a bad encounter with FG..or a land owner.

Believe it or not...I found those big Gazette books for the state useful for determining if the area has enough blocks of public land.

Driving around I had 4 things going...regular car GPs to get me to the spot...the Gazette to tell me where i was going...the WY fold-out GMU map to make sure I didnt cross out of the proper GMU...and my trusty Garmin hand held with state specific chip to give me the NO BS.

The game wardens use the same chip to make determinations...if you shoot a buck and a gamie rolls up to check (happened to me ALL THE TIME)...they will turn on the their hand held to decide if your legit or not. Most areas with leftover tags will have little chucks of a few hundred acres surrounded by private...not many giant blocks of thousands of acres of contiguous public...  so you will always be close to out of bounds....  BE SURE WHERE YOU AND YOUR GOAT ARE BEFORE YOU SHOOT

ive had tons of interactions with the WY Gamies. All positive! but bet your butt...you WILL be checked thoroughly...and if you are shooting and you can see your vehicle or a vehicle...assume a GW is watching you through binos!!

I don't have a ton of antelope experience but one thing I do know is they are difficult to judge.  Spend some man hours researching ways to field judge and then depending on the area you are hunting maybe leave the gun in the truck the first morning and just observe some bucks.  They aren't hard to spot and they never leave their little 2 mile area so getting back on a buck isn't difficult.  If your not really interested in trophy hunting and just wanna have fun and shoot a good buck then drop the hammer on the first MONSTER ( 12"er  :chuckle:) you see!  They all look big when you have a rifle in your hand........trust me I know! :chuckle:
It is foolish and wrong to mourn these men.  Rather, we should thank god that such men lived.  -General George S. Patton

My buddy lives in Cheyenne and told me if you're disabled, you can hunt 5 days before anybody gets to hunt. Of course, you have to be certified by your doctor and Wyoming paper work in hand, I do. I sure wish WDFW would smarten up and help the disabled instead of screwing us..........
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............
