Not in any circumstance in WA - he's probably trapping out of state.

Actually that's not true, you can use them on a special permit which is quite easy to obtain.

Hey woodywsu, can we use conibears now?

NWCO can obtain permits to legally use them for nuisance wildlife control.

If you are doing a free of charge damage control you can get a permit also. no need to be a NWCO in those cases.

I've slowed down enough in my old age to finally let the game catch up to me

Nope you fill out the application which basically ask you what you've done to solve the problem up to that point, where it's at, who is doing the trapping and how many problem animals you need to remove.  Then you fax it in, usually get it back in the mail within 3 to 5 days and it's good for 30 days.  At the end of the 30 days you can request another 30 days.  Once you're done you report how many you caught and what you did with them.

F&T sells some snare shop stuff, but there's probably more to choose from at the Snare Shop.  If you buy a lot of stuff, it's probably best to go right to the source!
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"
