Rem 700 BDL question?
« on: November 11, 2008, 04:35:30 PM »
Anyone ever had any trouble with the little button just forward of the trigger used to release the bolt on a 700?  Mine won"t release after it is pushed in to drop the metal tab that holds the bolt in.

Maybe a drop of oil? Mine was sticking also, a drop of oil fixed the problem.

yes, mine hung up this year a little, My gun is 20 years old. Oil it and work it back and forth and it should be ok, take a toothpick and work out any dirt etc that may have built up in there.

I had the same thing happen on an older model, one of the models where you have to take the safety off to work the bolt.   :bdid:  I had to take a jack knife and force it down and from there it stayed down.  I cleaned the gun well but had to do this for awhile and then one day it just magically decided to start working correctly again.   :dunno:  One thing though, I don't oil my guns.
