filming duck hunts

Has anyone ever tried to film their own duck hunts? I recently purchased a little HD camcorder and want to try to film some of our hunts this year. I have a tripod and the remote for the camera. I am thinking about setting it up behind us a little ways and when the ducks come start working our spread, hit the record button and see if we can get some footage. Any thoughts?

I would be willing to run a camera for anyone if they would let me tag along. I wanted to go after waterfowl the last couple years just never really jumped into it. Shooting with a camera would be a great way to start.

That is a great idea. Where we hunt is only about an hour and a half from Spokane. I know this because I went to Gonzaga and made the trip many times!

this is a more practical camera for the shooter. i am going to try and pick me up a pair of these for this season, i have found them in tri-cities for $160.

I think it could be great if you gewt your setup right and they work in just how you want them to! if not it could be a lot of missed kills

check out some of the youtube videos for the I-Kam. Pretty sweet footage. Point of view is cool to see your shots but I also think filming from other angles would be nice to have.  I've been thinking of getting one of the waterproof Kodak flip cameras for filming outdoor stuff including duck hunting.

Skagit Arms also sells them.  You can pick them up locally or take a look at them at least.
