I bought a couple of custom stainless steel guide rods for my CZ pistols from a guy in Texas name of Steve Bedair.

http://guiderod.com/

Doing business with this guy was top shelf, I highly recommend him.  His service was prompt and professional.  If he doesn't stock a guide rod for your pistol, I'm certain he can make one for you if you provide him the dimensions, or if that's not possible, ship him the rod you have now and he can make a duplicate in stainless steel.

You can verify these options with Steve via email from his website posted above.  IIRC I emailed Steve about one of my CZ's to verify his knowledge about a particular model I owned, and he got right back to me.  He also supplied the right part, & his work is quality.

I had a buddy that used guiderod.com to get one done for a pistol of his.
Top notch!

More than likely, a custom made rod will be your only option.
I left it better than I found it...did you?

Brownells has a lot of gun parts.  Here is a link for a guide rod search, but you'll have to page through to see if something will work for you.  Good luck.

I wonder if you can use a Beretta guide rod in your Taurus?  :dunno:

OK, I'll bite, what's so special about your guide rod?  I'm an old machinist, I'm surprised a good lathe man can't make you one....guess I'll have to take a look at this 'impossible' guide rod and see what's 'impossible' about it....

But good luck in your search, after I look at what you have if I can find anything I'll let you know...

PS - I'm assuming Taurus can't help you out....right?

2nd PS - Two of my CZ's had plastic guide rods.  They worked fine, better than fine.  Perfect.  But...I wanted stainless steel guide rods.  Had to have steel.  I buy the guide rods, then I find out, CZ has plastic guide rods because of the flat springs they use.  If I use steel guide rods with the flat wire springs, the springs self destruct.  So...I had to re-spring the gun with round wire springs.  That took some tinkering and a fair amount of range time to get the right stiffness spring paired with the SS guide rod, where the gun wouldn't fail to feed reliably.  The point is, it took a fair amount of work...to fix a gun...that wasn't broke to begin with....

it has been stated in several reviews that after prolonged shooting that there has been a few problems with the factory guide rod with a taurus....So i have had a pistol with a stell guide rod in it in the past and it never had issues....that and it is just a little more reliable in my opinion.....less cause for plastic to wear, brake, or be effected by weather or anything else.....

but untill i gett the gun later this week, i wont be able to tell you why it is the impossable rod to make...from what i hear it is a 2 part rod...but that could be way wrong.....

ill let you all know when i find out.
