Up and comer
« on: January 03, 2014, 12:00:08 AM »
My 8 year old told me two weeks ago that he wants to hunt in 2014, so tonight we set him up with a Mossy ATR Super Bantam chambered in 243 with a 3-9X40 Pine Ridge scope. Plan to get him out to the Capitol Forest either tomorrow or Sat so he can run the first box through her. I don't think I've ever seen him so excited over a single material purchase. If it wasn't locked in the safe I think he would have slept with it tonight. Now to get him through hunters ed. I'm not sure which of us is most excited for the season to come! Hopefully he'll be here on display with a bloody face this fall/winter!

Sure looking that way. He's got the fever! Built him a shooting gallery for his pellet rifle in the back yard to give him a bit more practice. This is his 100 yard target with the 243. He was shooting from a chair and sticks. Just mounted a bipod for him. Can't wait to see that group tighten up!
