Victory VAP's. QUICK REVIEW ADDED.

Who has experience with those goofy looking VAP's? I understand the theory behind them, would they be worth swithing to from an Easton FMJ?

no i would shoot your fmj, vap's are not as straight or as tough. i just shoot the n-fused and think they're a great arrow. if i was shooting #70 BOW the fmj would be my choice also.

The vaps are made of some of the best carbon out there. The axis suck talk about not straight and not strong. Im going to order some vaps and give them a trial, I think they will do fine and hope they fair better then the axis did cause crqcking at the tip of the arrow with only hitting a bag targets isnt good.

I haven't had any problems with the Axis cracking at the tips or not being straight.

  The VAP V1's have a tolerance of +/- .001" Doesnt get much straighter than that. And while the FMJ's are tough arrows, they bend and dont return back to their original straightness, like a carbon arrow will.

Not what you're asking, but I bought a dozen of the Deer Crossing SD hunter.  My friend shot some and said they flew great and out penetrate the axis he had.  Their .001 cost about the same as the VAP (from Eagle Archery price).

onlt thing that would cause this is the insert set too deep ( usally from seating them for depth, then screwing tips in before glue cures) with standard 17/64's screwed tight and inserts properly set, this will not happen. And the VAPs?awesome arrows, but better suited for targets imho

I did that when I glued the inserts. I wasnt to happy about them doing it either. I have tried collars on them too and they still did it. I would think even if they where set to deep the only way they would crack would be if the insert moved as the arrow hit forcing the tip in. And ive seen a lot of them come in the shop that where cracked the same with out the person even seeing it. Ive use the gold tip kinects with hit inserts and they never did this.

I have shot 1000's of shot and have never seen this. If the inserts are too deep, the tips will screw in till they butt the shaft, but with the force of impact, actually screw in deeper, thus, split the tip of the shaft

I got my dozen VAP V1's fletched up, tuned the inserts to my broad heads before gluing them in, and let them set up before shooting. To say the least, I'm impressed. These arrows fly like darts. Perfect flight pattern and hammer the targets. Shot them side by side with my Easton FMJ's and they penetrated 4-6" deeper into my Rinehart target. 30" 350 spline arrows@ 441gr,  29" draw, 70lb pull on a 340 IBO bow, shooting at 284fps.

$220 a dozen but look like they'll be everything they claim to be. Can't wait 'til Septemer.
