snow camo

I knew that would strike a nerve!  I have a Naked North reversible jacket, with snow camo on the inside, and brown outside, and a Nat Gear pair of snow bibs I bought from Midway, and hat, face covering, and gloves, and I just got a White Camo Kill Suit from Allpredatorcalls.com to put on over the snow camo.  Am I a camo junkie?  Yes, but for the one or two months of snow we get around here, I just can't force myself to spend a lot of money on snow camo.  The one bit of snow camo that I really like is the pair of glove/mitts that have the pocket for those air-activated hand warmers.  I can stand the cold a lot longer if my fingers are warm!

Fleece is quiet and warm... but....  snow sticks to it.
And its not water proof. Your fleece gear in the snow will get really heavy after a long day of hiking

BTW, a hunting buddy of mine has brown camo that looks like closed-loop carpeting.  Can't think of the name of it right now, but it looks warm and expensive.  If they make a Snow Camo version of it, that would be the ticket!  He's a big guy, so I don't think sizes are a problem.  I can email him and ask the name of it if you want...

Fleece is all that I have hunted in in the snow for the past 20 years.  It still keeps me warm enough and I don't really mind it getting heavier.  My number one concern when hunting is being  quiet.

That would be sweet.  Is it berber?  Good wool berber is realy quiet and warm.

I got an answer to my email to my buddy.  He said he used Sitka or Cabelas Camo, depending on what he was hunting.  I think he was wearing the Sitka Camo when we last hunted coyotes together.  It looked warm and cozy (And expensive!  )  If it's made in Snow coloration and your size, it would be the ticket.  I just can't see spending a bunch of money on snow camo, when it hasn't snowed enough around here to need it.  I put mine on once this year at 2600 feet, and even then it was a thin dusting of snow.
