Any tips or tricks for catching bullhead and channell catfish? whats the best size set up? I was thinking I would use a 6 foot med action for bullhead catfish and A 8'6 med~heavy for channell cats.

All I can say is
SHRIMP!!!
Buy a bag of frozen shrimp. By the time you get to the lake they will be thawed.
Catfish absolutely destroy shrimp and it's way cleaner to handle than liver.

chicken livers that sat in the sun for a bit used to work good. just fish the muddy/sandy bottom with a little bit of water flow.

For bullheads in the spring I recommend salad shrimp, a sunny shoreline, folding lawn chair and just a little bit more beer with than you think you'll need.
* didnt mean to basically double up KF's post, but there's obviously a pattern here!
