I hope everyone is feeling lucky when it comes to drawing a moose tag ...what is the chances of one family drawing 3 moose tags ? Well pretty dang good for a family in Western Washington ...yep that's right ...Father mother and daughter have all drawn a moose tag and all 3 have killed a moose  :yike: that is just crazy but good for them  :kneel: :cue:

They usually get a Tag about every 4yrs. P.S Jeff called me this morning saying he's gonna try & get a Moose Dynasty show. :chuckle:

i wont ever draw because i never put in, however i have put my son in since he was 9 or 10, well actually trophy hunt puts him in, he takes care of are permit apps cause he digs that kind of stuff, but dakota is now 18 so he has a few points, mybe by the time he retires he might draw one of those elusive moose tags  :chuckle:

getting off thread with this one but i know a guy my age that drew the peaches ridge big bull tag 3 out 4 years and guys that have been putting in for it foerever that still havent been drawn  :dunno: they could definatly do something, especially for the guys that are truly huntn for a trophy, alot of people put in for places that dont have a clue of what they are putting in for, i am sure there is a better way to do it  :twocents: THOSE moose that the family got, is there any pics of them, i couldnt find anything in that link thing that was posted  :dunno:

Odds are not as bad as mega-millions lottery jackpot odd...but they are not good either. On the upside, your odds improve overtime at least as you continue to put in.

With max points odds are about 1 in 100.

It gets worse each year if you have max points.  I have too many points and still delusionally think I'll draw.  My backup plan is 8 years away for a Yukon or Alaska moose hunt if I still am trying to qualify in Washington.

My old man got drawn for a moose tag years ago & then won the raffle later. I was 1st alternate hoping the other guy would not purchase his tag but not sure 2 moose would have fit in the truck.  :tung: He has 2 moose from WA & 1 in Montana. Moose meat is terribly good.

I think this is the biggest lie that they try to sell you with points.

YES, your points go up, but so do the other 10,000 (arbitruary number) that don't draw.
YES, your points are squared, but so are the other 10,000.

Then think about our youth, our kids coming into the system with nothing.   Mathematically are their odds really tat much less than yours.      There is some interesting Math involved.

:yeah:when I started applying there were around four thousand people applying for the most popular tag. now there is over fifteen thousand.so even though my points are going up my odds seem to be much worse.not sure if odds even come into play its just pure luck,if there were fifteen thousand people applying when I started I would have never started, now I feel I have to much invested to stop
